Engawa/縁側

Engawa is a Japanese style veranda floor
Traditional houses have engawa along the outside of the zashiki (Tayami
matted room which is
often used for entertaining guests formaly or holding some special ceremony
for family.)
People like taking a nap on a sunny day, eating watermelom with friends
in summer,
chattering with neighbours all day long., here.
