Kowaka-mai
Kowaka-mai is one of the old entertainments and
was very popular in the Muromachi period.
Now it's almost disappear since it has been still kept in Ooe village,
southern part of Fukuoka Pref.
"Atsumori" of Kowaka-mai is a very famous dance, since Oda Nobunaga
loved it.
(Atsumori/Taira no Atsumori who was very handsome, good at playing the
flute, and killed by Kumagai Naozane)
The poem assimilate our brief span of life to a drop on a leaf
or the moon reflected on the surface of the water........
The most famous phrase is indicated by boldface.
The rough meaning is....
"Our life is 50 years. It's disappointed short like a dream or illusion.
All living things has an end."
