Namba Aruki

It is said that people in the Edo period walked in namba-aruki style.
We can view such scenes in many pictures which depicted in those days,
though
even now we atill keep it in Sumo training, martial arts, Kabuki, Bon dance,
etc.
The Meiji Government (1868-1912) soaked up the modern way of walking to
the martial march of the governmental army from the Western military drill
after the governmental troops which formed by farmer soldiers had beaten
by the Satsuma troops in the Battle of Seinan in 1877.
After that the government adopted it to
