(Traditional Japanese end-of-the-year housecleaning ritual)

2:00p.m.-


Priests start to clean Honden (the main shrine) from 6:00a.m.
Then they clean more than 40 shrines (Honguu, betsuguu, etc.) one after another
using imitake (bamboo) from 10:00a.m.

From 2:00p.m., after they finish cleaning all the places in the sanctuary, they have a ceremony at the main shrine
to inform the god that they prepared everything for the New Year.
