Zashiki is a formal Japanese-style tatami mats room in the house.
When we put "O" at the head of "zashiki", it sometimes means
a traditional Japanese-style reception room where Geiko and/or Maiko let customers entertain.


"Ozashiki-gei" is Japanese traditional entertainment with geisha performed
in Japanese-style tatami mats room.
Since the Edo period, it has been enjoyed by the successful local businessmen or polititians,
and such pleasure is called "Ozashiki-asobi".

It's very very difficult to do ozashiki-asobi in Kyoto because
it's sophisticated special world and very expensive.
Before all, you can not do anything without introduction and connection.
Only very rich businessmen or politicians can be participated there.
(* Recentry there are restaurants or tours of Ochaya-asobi. you don't need any introduction.
They are mini-ozashiki-experience and you can enjoy the atmosphere.Here)
However, condition and atmosphere in other towns, especialy hot-spring towns, are very different.
Ordinary people can enjoy ozashiki-asobi casually if you pay..

Ozashiki Culture Univ. is run by Ito Onsen Tourist Association.
They provide two departments 5 courses and we can learn cool Edo culture.

(If you would like to wear black kimono => plus 3000yen)

Content
1 Get your makeup done by real geisha
2 Fixed up kimono and wear a wig in Geisha's way
3 Take three commemorative photos.
4 Take bath at Tokai-kan and have tea service
5 In memory of your participation, register your
"Genjina" (professional name) and kiss mark.
They will be keep going on display
at Tokai-kan forever.

1 Fitting kimono, Geisha's manner, lecture about culture of geiko,
Dodoitdu song, Dance

2nd day: 10:00 - 13:00
1 Get your makeup done by real geisha
