Kosho-ji Sento-kuyo-e
(Thousand Lantern Festval or Fire Festival)

3rd Saturday of October.

Children's procession 11:00a.m.- Ceremony starts 4:00 p.m.- Memorial service of burning cedar-stick 5:00p.m.- light up 5:30 p.m.-

Sentou means thousand lantern, kuyou means a memorial service
and e means a meeting for ceremony.

Sentou-kuyou-e is the biggest main ceremony of this temple.
Hold a memorial service for spirits of all the dead
by offering chants, thousand of light of candles, flowers and incense.
In front of image of Dainichi-nyorai Budda stature,
priests pray for prosperity of one's family
and consume one's trouble.


Kohsho-ji
